This is an important data source rather than an organization as such. It is maintained by the Northeast Regional Ocean Council.
The collection dates back to 1869 and contains more than 100,000 speciments.

Merino Park in Providence owes a lot to the Woonasquatucket River Watershed Council (WRWC), which organized a playground building project and many cleanups. It has a boat launch.
This is the overall sponsor of the International Coastal Cleanup, which happens in mid-September each year.
This organization collaborates with Audubon, RIDEM, USDA/NRCS and other organizations on projects such as the restoration of the New England Cottontail. Also see the Young Forest Project for their work.
The Friends of the NBG and Randall Park (which is the land in between North Main Street and the cemetery proper) is a not-for-profit group recently formed to help preserve and maintain the cemetery in the future, to make it an economic asset for the city of Providence, to promote its value to the public as a historic and natural resource, and to conduct events that showcase the cemetery in various ways.
