NEW: A Research Guide to Homelessness in Rhode Island

Providential Gardener is developing a research guide on homelessness. Read about the guide, explore the guide, and follow the news.

We need stuff we don't have and we get work done in different places -- schools, stores, offices, etc. -- so we need to get from here to there.

You would hardly know it these days, with all the emphasis on cars, but the first and original way humans get from place to place is WALKING. Our public spaces have become optimized for private automobiles -- how can we get back to basics?

This category will have at least the following subcategories:

  • Air Travel
  • Biking
  • Energy Efficiency
  • Private Motor Vehicles
    • Parking
  • Public Transportation
    • Intermodal Transportation
  • Train Travel
  • Walking

Until this category guide is developed, here is a video of a dedicated bike lane demonstration project in Burlington, VT. Thanks to James Kennedy over at TransportProvidence for finding the link.
