Merino Park in Providence owes a lot to the Woonasquatucket River Watershed Council (WRWC), which organized a playground building project and many cleanups. It has a boat launch.

The story of transportation is depicted at the Captain Wilbur Kelly House in Lincoln, a museum midway along the bike path. Operated by the RI DEM.
