Municipal Conservation Commissions are authorized (since 1960) by RIPL 45-35. About 30 of RI's 39 cities and towns have conservation commissions. I eventually will list them all individually in this website. Meanwhile, the list can be found on the RIACC page and also at the Secretary of State's Open Meetings database -- search on the word CONSERVATION.

" The Narragansett Bay Estuary Program is one of 28 programs designated as “estuaries of national significance” under the National Estuary Program. The program helps protect and restore the waters of the Narragansett Bay itself as well as the 1 million acres of land that surround and drain into the Bay. In 2015, the Estuary Program celebrated 30 years of successful nature protection and wildlife conservation of the Narragansett Bay watershed."
