Narragansett Bay Estuary Program

" The Narragansett Bay Estuary Program is one of 28 programs designated as “estuaries of national significance” under the National Estuary Program. The program helps protect and restore the waters of the Narragansett Bay itself as well as the 1 million acres of land that surround and drain into the Bay. In 2015, the Estuary Program celebrated 30 years of successful nature protection and wildlife conservation of the Narragansett Bay watershed."

Coastal Resources Management Council

"The Coastal Resources Management Council is a management agency with regulatory functions. Its primary responsibility is for the preservation, protection, development and where possible the restoration of the coastal areas of the state via the implementation of its integrated and comprehensive coastal management plans and the issuance of permits for work with the coastal zone of the state."
