The New England Power Pool (NEPOOL) was established in 1971 as a voluntary association of market participants from the six New England States. 

This group is based in Killingly, CT, which already has two fossil fuel plants. A third fossil fuel plant has been proposed in 2016.

ISO = Independent System Operator. Manages the New England Power Grid.

This is a national organization for state governors. RI Joined in 2009. In 2016, RI Governor Gina Raimondo was vice-chair, and chair in 2017.
