City of Providence
Providence has had an Urban Agriculture movement since 2004, led by Southside Community Land Trust (SCLT) and involving many community groups, city agencies, and state entities. See the 2008 Urban Ag Task Force report.
The Providence Urban Ag Task Force is behind the development of Plant Providence and the Providence Community Garden Network. Most recently, Lots of Hope has begun educating residents about growing food in the city, as well as transforming city-owned vacant lots into productive farms.
See the Providence Urban Ag page.
City of Central Falls
In April 2016, Central Falls residents, SCLT staff, and Brown University students began discussing how to establish gardening and farming in Central Falls.
