THE WUHAN CORONAVIRUS: ASSESSING THE OUTBREAK, THE RESPONSE, AND REGIONAL IMPLICATIONS

Committee on Foreign Affairs: Subcommittee on Asia, the Pacific, and Nonproliferation held a hearing entitled ``The Wuhan Coronavirus: Assessing the Outbreak, the Response, and Regional Implications''. Testimony was heard from public witnesses.

Some notes on the hearing: [Listening to the longer video of the committee, aroound minute 8ff, the administration had testified in a closed hearing this date (Feb 5) and would not provide statements for a public hearing. Chairman Bera was very concerned about coronavirus at this time. This is not partisan, he said, asked the administration to tell Congress what they need, and Congress will provide what's needed. Rep. Ted Yoho (R-FL), ranking member,  is first speaker. This is the first public hearing on coronavirus. Next speaker is Rep. Brad Sherman, on the committee. Dr. Nuzzo of Johns Hopkins, Jennifer Bouey of RAND Corporation, and Mr. Ron Klain Former White House Ebola Response Coordinator, 2014-2015, testified.
