Stormwater gushes off the rooftops near Mashapaug Pond in Providence, picking up pollutants before it drains into the pond itself. Mashapaug drains into the lakes in Roger Williams Park, which in turn drain into Narragansett Bay. This water is supposed to be seeping into the ground, recharging the aquifer.
