Access/RI

'ACCESS/RI is a broad-based, non-profit freedom of information coalition dedicated to improving citizen access to the records and processes of government in Rhode Island. Founded in 1996, ACCESS/RI is affiliated with the A. Alfred Taubman Center for Public Policy and American Institutions at Brown University, and is a member of the National Freedom of Information Coalition (NFOIC). Through continuing programming, research and advocacy, ACCESS/RI strives to keep the “right to know” at the top of the public-policy agenda. This Web site is offered as a public service."

Providence Streets Coalition

RI Middle Passage Project

"The Rhode Island Middle Passage Ceremonies and Port Markers Project (RI MPCPMP) promotes the recognition of the state’s history as a major actor in the transatlantic human trade, as the home of multiple ports receiving enslaved people who survived the Middle Passage, as well as the vital role that Africans and their descendants played in the development of both Rhode Island and the Americas."

Homes RI

"The Homes RI campaign was launched in 2018 to shine a spotlight on the increased need for Rhode Island to invest in more affordable homes in cities and towns across the state.

Providence Racial and Environmental Justice Committee

"[T]he Racial and Environmental Justice Committee (REJC) [is] made up of people of color representing frontline communities in the City. The work began with anti-racism trainings, which presented a racial equity analysis for City and community members. The REJC then assessed the needs and priorities of community members and researched best practices for equitable sustainable community development."
