This organization goes back to the late 19th century.

Membership in the New England Botanical Club is open to anyone with an interest in plants. Our membership includes both serious amateurs and professional plant biologists with interests in plant systematics, field botany, plant geography, plant ecology, paleobotany, conservation biology, genetics, population biology, and other specialties....
Due to a reorganization of the URI Master Gardener Program in 2016, this organization was renamed in 2021 to the Garden Foundation of RI.
This is now the Native Plant Trust.
Also known as Mass Hort
Elm Bank Reservation "was placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1987 and is currently owned by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. In April of 1996, after a public process that included thoughtful consideration of all aspects of the site, Mass Hort signed a lease with the Commonwealth and pledged to bring Elm Bank back to life for generations to come."
