Last Sunday in July. This is a Rhode Island observance.

According to RIPR, "Governor’s Bay Day has been celebrated since 1989. It began in response to the World Prodigy oil spill and to highlight the quality and fragility of Narragansett Bay."

Usually the RI DEM Division of Parks and Recreation organizes many organized events and free parking at state beaches.
