Lincoln Woods
Yes, I specialize in collecting organized activities that make up the What Grows On in Rhode Island calendar. But back in the day, we made our own fun. So how about picnicking, hiking, swimming, or just watching a sunset at one of our lovely state parks?
Sunday I took my picnic basket to Lincoln Woods and enjoyed some time with friends over shared food. The walk to the beach from the parking lot took us by a wetland teeming with red winged blackbirds. And then, we watched the sky change from blue to pink over the pond, until it was nearly dark. Our way out of Lincoln Woods was lit by fire flies. Exquisite!
